Healthcare Administration Student Joins Program to Honor Her Father and Push for Change

Britni Adams didn’t have experience working in a healthcare facility when she enrolled in the University of Wisconsin Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. Instead, her medical background is deeply personal. 

As a student in the 100 percent online program, Britni aims to help healthcare professionals do their best work so that patients are given the proper care and attention they need.

UW Flexible Option’s First Applicant Reflects on IST Program and How His Degree Helped Him Land a Leadership Role

When we last met with Aaron Apel in 2019, he had graduated from the UW-Milwaukee Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology (IST) program offered through UW Flexible Option. 

The program’s first applicant back in 2014, Aaron now works in a leadership role at UW-Madison Office of the Registrar. A father of three daughters and full-time IT professional at the time, his road to graduating was a busy one, but the destination was more than worth the journey.

Proud Mother Overcomes Adversity and Shines in Online AAS Program

Nene Frost’s love for her husband and three children couldn’t be more clear, and it was with her family’s support that she achieved her higher education goals. A recent graduate of the 100 percent online University of Wisconsin Associate of Arts and Sciences program, she faced many challenges along the way to earning her degree. Regardless of where she was in her life, her gratitude for the program remained constant throughout.

Director at Microsoft and IST Faculty Member Uses Dual Careers to Help Others Cultivate Their Potential

Dee Piziak’s career in IT is an illustrious one. Her CV includes roles at IBM, Northwestern Mutual, Johnson Controls, Oracle, and Google. She’s currently a Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence at Microsoft, where she leads pre-sales technical specialists on her team and works with organizations in the eastern half of the US to help them identify practical use cases and applications for AI.

Partner at Accounting and IT Firm Fulfills Personal Goal of Earning Degree in UW Flexible Option

Michael Senkbeil is a partner at Chortek LLP, an accounting and IT firm based in Milwaukee that focuses on small businesses and their owners.

Wanting to fulfill his personal goal of earning a degree, Michael was excited to find the Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Technology program offered through UW Flexible Option. Taking courses in the online program fit perfectly into his busy schedule.

‘Dress For STEM’ Celebrates Women in STEM and Brings Awareness to Gender Gap

“Dress for STEM” takes place on March 14th, the same day as Pi Day. The movement was formed to honor female STEM professionals and the pioneers who came before them. At the same time, it’s also meant to start a conversation and bring awareness to the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields.

I helped to interview the women featured in this video and worked with our Media team to provide creative input and choose excerpts for the final project.
